01. Who we are
Solaris is provided by METAHUMAN ARTS AND MEDIA CO, S.A.S. DE C.V. (“Metahuman,” “we,” or “us”). Our developer is Gerardo Martínez Ruiz. This policy explains how the Solaris iOS app handles information. For privacy requests, email hello@metahuman.co.
02. A camera that processes on your device
Solaris does not require an account. We do not receive your camera feed, photographs, photo-library contents, depth information, or app preferences on our servers. The app has no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking. Solaris is free to download and offers an optional one-time Solaris Pro in-app purchase, with no subscriptions. Local processing is different from transmitting information to us; the sections below describe the information the app accesses on your device.
03. Camera, photographs, and permissions
With your camera permission, Solaris accesses the camera feed and captures still images to provide its viewfinder and photographic features. Supported lens simulations use camera depth information and on-device subject masks to render optical effects; these are not used to identify people or create identity profiles. With permission to add photographs, Solaris saves developed images to Apple Photos. Opening the Solaris gallery requests Photos read/write permission to find, display, share, and delete Solaris photographs. Legacy-photo discovery may inspect image filenames and metadata in the library to recognize earlier Solaris captures. Limited Photos access restricts the photographs the gallery can access. We do not upload your library to Metahuman.
04. Other information processed locally
Solaris uses device orientation and motion to orient the interface and display a camera level. It stores preferences, capture sequence numbers, photo-library identifiers, and capture records locally. Records can include exposure, ISO, focal length, selected film stock, lens simulation, and processing diagnostics. Image files may include photographic metadata. Solaris does not request location, microphone, contacts, or tracking permission. Review the metadata of photographs before sharing them.
05. Purchases, Apple services, and sharing
Apple processes the optional Solaris Pro purchase through the App Store. Solaris uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to verify purchase transactions and entitlement status, unlock Pro features, restore purchases, and recognize refunds or revocations. This information may include the product identifier, transaction identifiers, purchase dates, and purchase or revocation status. Entitlement verification takes place in the app; Solaris does not send this information to a Metahuman purchase server. We do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password. Apple may make transaction records and sales reports available to us through its developer services; we use these for purchase support, accounting, and legal obligations. Apple’s handling of purchases is described in its App Store privacy notice.
Photographs saved to Photos may be synchronized by Apple if you enable iCloud Photos. When the gallery requests an image stored in iCloud, Apple’s Photos framework may download it to your device. Device backups may also contain eligible app data, depending on your Apple settings. These services are controlled by you and Apple and are covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Solaris does not operate a separate photo cloud. If you use the system share sheet, the selected photograph and its included metadata are passed to the destination you choose; that destination’s policy then applies. We do not sell or rent your personal information or share app data with advertising or analytics providers.
06. Storage and retention
Temporary capture sources, staged images, and recovery records stay in the app’s private storage during development and saving. After a verified successful save, Solaris removes the temporary capture job. If saving to Photos fails or access is denied, a developed photograph may be saved to Files → On My iPhone → SOLARIS → Recovered. Unfinished sources may remain locally when necessary to recover a photograph; cleanup is retried when the app opens. Saved Photos images remain until you delete them. Recovered Files images remain until you remove them. Local preferences and photo indexes remain until removed by the app or by deleting the app. Offloading the app can preserve its data. Purchase entitlement information is checked through StoreKit while providing Pro access and purchase restoration. Apple retains purchase records under its own policies; deleting Solaris does not erase Apple’s transaction history. Any purchase records we receive for support, accounting, or legal obligations are retained only as long as needed for those purposes or as required by law. Development-only builds can explicitly retain limited RAW diagnostics; this retention is disabled in production builds.
07. Your choices and deletion
You can change or revoke camera and Photos permission in iOS Settings, including choosing limited Photos access where available. Revoking access prevents the corresponding features from working. Delete photographs in Solaris where supported or in Apple Photos, and remove them from Recently Deleted if you want permanent deletion subject to Apple’s retention rules. Delete recovered photographs in Files. Deleting Solaris removes its local app container, but does not remove photographs already saved in Photos, exported files, or existing backups. Manage iCloud and backups separately through Apple settings. There is no Solaris account to delete. For personal information you sent us directly, contact us to request access, correction, or deletion; applicable law may also give you rights to object, restrict processing, receive a copy, or complain to a privacy authority.
08. Support messages
If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and resolve support or privacy issues. Email is handled by the email services used by you and us. Please do not send photographs or sensitive details unless necessary. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet applicable legal obligations. If a service provider processes that correspondence on our behalf, we require confidentiality and protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.
09. Security and children
Local app data is protected by the iOS app sandbox and the protections available on your device. Keep your device and operating system secure; no storage or communication method can guarantee absolute security. Solaris is a general-purpose photographic tool, not a service directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. If a child has sent personal information to our support address, contact us so we can address it and delete it where required.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the app’s handling of information changes and update the date above. Where required, we will provide notice and obtain consent before introducing a new use of personal information. Contact us at hello@metahuman.co for METAHUMAN ARTS AND MEDIA CO, S.A.S. DE C.V. with questions or privacy requests.
