01. Agreement and provider
These terms govern your use of Solaris, the iOS photography app provided by METAHUMAN ARTS AND MEDIA CO, S.A.S. DE C.V. (“Metahuman,” “we,” or “us”). Our contact representative is Gerardo Martínez Ruiz, reachable at hello@metahuman.co. By using Solaris you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using and delete the app. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, use Solaris only with the authorization of a parent or guardian.
02. App Store license
Your license to the App Store version of Solaris is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless a separate custom license is expressly supplied through the App Store. These terms supplement that license for use of Solaris and do not replace it. If there is a conflict concerning the app license, the applicable App Store license controls. You must also comply with applicable Apple service and usage terms.
03. Using the camera
Solaris provides still photography, film-stock simulation, lens simulation, and photograph viewing and export features. Results are creative approximations and may vary with lighting, hardware, available depth data, and software version. A simulation is not a guarantee of matching a particular physical film or lens. You are responsible for choosing settings, checking saved images, maintaining sufficient storage, and backing up photographs. Camera and Photos permissions are needed for the features that use them. Feature availability and output formats may vary by device.
04. Your photographs and responsible use
You retain ownership of photographs and other content you create. These terms do not grant Metahuman ownership of, or a marketing license to, your photographs. You are responsible for obtaining permissions and respecting the privacy, image rights, intellectual property, and applicable laws concerning people and material you photograph or share. Do not use Solaris for unlawful activity, harassment, infringement, or attempts to bypass software protections, except where applicable law expressly permits an activity. Third-party destinations you choose for sharing have their own terms.
05. Free access and Solaris Pro
Solaris is free to download. The free version includes the MONO H and 250 film stocks and the SWIRLY lens simulation. Solaris Pro is an optional, non-consumable in-app purchase for a one-time price of $9.99 USD in the United States, or the local equivalent price in other markets. The final localized price and any applicable taxes are shown by the App Store before you confirm the purchase. Solaris Pro includes all free features, the GLD film stock, SCOPE and RING lens simulations, and any future film-stock and lens-simulation additions to Solaris at no additional charge. There is no subscription or automatic renewal.
Apple processes payment. Pro access is granted after a verified purchase; a pending or unverified transaction does not unlock Pro until confirmed. Use Restore Purchases in the app with the Apple Account used for the original purchase to recover an eligible entitlement after reinstalling or on a compatible device. A refund or revocation may remove Pro access. Refund requests are handled under Apple’s policies and applicable consumer law; see Apple’s purchase support. Including future additions does not promise a specific feature, release schedule, or indefinite development or compatibility. If new film stocks or lens simulations are added to Solaris, they are included in your Pro purchase.
06. Privacy
The Solaris Privacy Policy describes permissions, on-device processing, storage, and deletion choices. Granting system permissions is separate from agreeing to these terms. You may revoke permissions in iOS Settings; features requiring those permissions may then become unavailable.
07. Ownership and updates
Solaris software, branding, and materials supplied by Metahuman remain the property of Metahuman or their respective owners. Your rights to use the software are set out in the applicable license. We may update, modify, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and any commitments made to you. The availability of future updates or compatibility with every future device or operating system is not guaranteed.
08. Support and Apple’s role
Metahuman is responsible for Solaris and for support concerning its features. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for this third-party app. Contact us at hello@metahuman.co. Warranty, product claims, intellectual-property claims, and other license matters are governed by the applicable App Store license and law. Nothing here restricts rights you have against a seller or provider under mandatory consumer law.
09. Warranty and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to the applicable App Store license, Solaris is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation or a particular photographic result. Capture, processing, and export can fail. Keep independent backups of important photographs. To the extent permitted by law, Metahuman is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. These provisions do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including fraud, intentional misconduct, or mandatory consumer rights.
10. Ending use and disputes
You may stop using Solaris at any time by deleting the app. Any termination of the software license is governed by the applicable license. Saved Photos images and exported files may remain after deletion. Disputes are subject to the applicable App Store license and mandatory law, including consumer protections and available remedies in your place of residence. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive non-waivable rights.
11. Changes and contact
We may revise these terms to reflect app changes or legal requirements and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated where required by law; the one-time Pro purchase continues to include future film-stock and lens-simulation additions to Solaris as described above.
